Assistant Director, Web Archive Systems (EL1)
The Library is seeking to fill an ongoing Assistant Director, Web Archive Systems EL1 role in the Strategy & Architecture Section of the Digital Branch.
You will work with a small and highly experienced team that builds world‐class digital collections for the Library. The role involves developing current tools, enhancing existing ones, and maintaining the team's place as a world leader in the field.
You will provide sound advice and recommendations that influence decisions, engage with an international community of developers in web archiving and digital preservation, design and build new leading‐edge tools for accessing and displaying the Library's largest digital collection, and provide support for existing tools.

Qualifications
* Significant experience with Java and Python programming
* Comprehensive understanding and experience with web technologies and web protocols (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript)
* Understanding and experience with Apache Solr
* Qualifications or equivalent extensive experience in information technology or related field
* Proven ability to collaborate on open‐source projects
* Understanding and experience with web crawlers and web archiving standards (WARC)
* Understanding of containerisation and cloud environments
