Overview

As a full time, Financial Accountant will play a key role:

* Providing commercial support and business partnering to Managers across the organisation.
* Closely across the entire organisation with all stakeholders to collaboratively develop budgets, provide value added analysis and provide financial forecasts and reports.
* Providing support and guidance to part-qualified accountants to ensure the work is complete.

Responsibilities

* Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the financial information for the organisation.
* Perform month end journals, cost reallocations, Prepayments and accruals journals.
* Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Perform in-depth checks on the validity of the monthly P&L.
* Meet with Department Managers & Executives monthly to review their P&L's and provide feedback on the monthly performance.
* Fixed Asset Accounting, including clearing the Asset Clearing account monthly.
* Produce monthly operations report.
* Perform monthly lease accounting reconciliations.
* Back up the Assistant Accountant for NDIS claims and lodgement. Work with NDIS Team to ensure NDIS income is maximised.
* Prepare BAS and FBT returns.
* Grant Accounting – reconciliation and acquittal reports.
* Revenue recognition responsibilities with respect to operating income and Grants.
* Prepare Annual Financial Statement.
* Support the Financial Controller with the annual financial audit programme with the company's external auditors.
* Liaise with and provide information to auditors.
* Work with the Financial Controller to improve the Finance Team processes.
* Mentor the Assistant Accountant and Finance Officer to ensure month end tasks are completed on time.

Qualifications

* Tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Commerce or Finance.
* Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
* Proactive and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organisation
* Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
* Able to challenge assumptions and maintain professional independence.
