About the role
As a Senior Consultant – AWS Data Migrations, you will deliver high‑quality consulting services to our clients by migrating database workloads to AWS. Your expertise will guide the design, deployment, and support of cloud database onboarding and migration projects.
You will assess, design, modernise and migrate RDBMSs to the best‑fit AWS‑backed solutions. As part of the Cloud Adoption team, you will help clients adopt modern AWS environments and operating models, build trusted relationships, and mentor client teams.
Responsibilities
* Provide consulting services combining architectural vision with hands‑on expertise using the latest cloud technologies.
* Assess, build architecture and migrate applications and data to AWS.
* Coordinate migrations with technology and applications teams to minimise business disruption.
* Manage database upgrades and infrastructure to support migration outcomes.
* Design, develop, and operate secure AWS and hybrid infrastructure marked with industry‑compliant standards.
* Use DevOps and continuous integration methods to build, configure, and manage infrastructure.
* Define new architectures based on regulatory compliance standards and secure stakeholder endorsement.
* Troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve issues to achieve project outcomes.
* Communicate with project teams, clients, vendors, and stakeholders to manage delivery.
* Establish and maintain client relationships as a source of reliable, professional advice on solution options.
* Continually upskill and pursue new technologies and certifications.
* Identify and report potential follow‑on business opportunities.
What you'll need to be successful
* Experience migrating SQL and/or Oracle databases to AWS services such as DMS, SCT, RDS, VPC, EC2, DynamoDB and Aurora.
* Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle on AWS and on physical/virtual servers.
* Experience conducting deep‑dive assessments of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle to recommend optimisations and cost benefits.
* Experience managing various versions of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle environments for upgrades with minimal disruption.
* Experience using automation for repeatable tasks (deployment, configuration, migration) via SQL, Python, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.
* Understanding of Oracle and SQL Server licensing models.

Salary: A$95,187.00 – A$108,734.00 per year.
