Financial Analyst - Mine Operations
We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our mine operations team.
Job Description
* Prepare financial reports, including month-end and year-end closures, journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
* Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and conduct audits as required.
* Manage capital, asset management, compliance and government returns.
* Conduct cost reporting analysis and communicate with managers and supervisors on cost transparency.
* Coordinate cost review meetings with department leads and supervisors.
* Evaluate internal controls and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
* Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
* Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders as needed.
* Identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
* Support other finance and administrative tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
* At least 2 years' work experience (preferably in the mining sector).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP systems (SAP) is a plus.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability.
* Demonstrates high standards of integrity, ethics and professionalism.
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
