Overview
Hydrographic Surveyor (Graduate / Grade 1 / Grade 2)
Location: Perth / Offshore
Role Purpose
Responsible for preparation, calibration, offshore execution, data processing, data management and reporting of offshore and onshore survey projects.
Responsibilities
* Support offshore survey operations including equipment installation, calibration, and maintenance.
* Operate survey systems and ensure data quality during acquisition.
* Assist in processing survey data and preparing field, calibration, and project reports.
* Participate in project briefings, operational planning, and project close-out documentation.
* Assist Party Chief/Senior Surveyor and report equipment issues when required.
* Follow company IBMS, HSEQ policies, and maintain safe work practices.
* Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement of survey systems and processes.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Marine Science, or related field.
* Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET/TBOSIET, CA-EBS) preferred.
* Ability to work independently and in a team.
* Strong communication and safety awareness.
* Experience with offshore survey equipment and operations.
Technical Skills (Preferred)
* Survey software: QINSy, Caris HIPS, QPS Qimera/FMGT.
* Sonardyne LBL/USBL systems.
* Total station and land survey equipment.
* AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
* Self-motivated with strong planning and organisational skills.
* Good stakeholder communication.
* Problem-solving and critical thinking.
* High integrity with strong safety mindset.
