The Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure our charging and energy solutions—including equipment, network connections, and distributed energy systems—are quantified and optimised for the best business outcomes.
You will work closely with the Engineering and Energy Solutions team to develop innovative solutions that reduce connection barriers and lower electricity costs, which are critical to the profitability of our network.
What You'll Do
You'll be involved in a mix of research, development, and routine operations, with duties including:
Developing and refining energy solutionsfor our EV network, including charging infrastructure, energy storage, and renewable energy sources.
Conducting feasibility studiesand cost-benefit analyses for energy projects.
Optimising the performanceof our energy and charging solutions, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending solutions.
Providing technical supportfor the ongoing management and growth of our network, including owning the testing and validation of charger software.
Analysing options for new connectionsand applying site-specific solutions to address connection challenges, such as analysing new connection offers from embedded networks.
Aiding in the development of automated systemsto support the operational network and streamline processes.
Supporting the management of existing power connectionsand energy supply arrangements, including validating monthly energy bills and identifying cost reduction initiatives.
Who We're Looking For
Must-Haves
A degree or higher-level qualification inElectrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
At least 1 + years of experience in engineering or background in similar field i.e. Energy, Telco, Power, infrastructure, motor vehicle or similar
Must have a keen interest in technical problem solving
Excellentproblem-solving, business intuition, and communication skills.
A passion for sustainability and a keen interest inautomation and optimisation.
The ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, start-up environment.
Highly Regarded
Strong understanding of data analysis methods and statistics.
Mathematical and Financial modelling experience.
Proficiency with business intelligence and visualisation tools eg.
Microsoft BI, Google Data Studio, Tableau, Matlab or Domo.
Knowledge and interest in EV's and power electronics.
Strong understanding of network management principles
A keen interest in the potential of AI in the energy space.
