Job Description
Gameloft Brisbane is looking for a Senior Technical Artist!
Working closely with the programming and art teams—and guided by the Art Director—the Technical Artist helps create tools and build an efficient graphics pipeline to streamline the creative process. Their goal is to support the team’s vision while ensuring everything runs smoothly, stays within performance limits, and meets production deadlines.
From the beginning of your journey with us, you will:
* Use your expertise in rigging principles and software proficiency (in Maya) to develop and maintain rigs for characters, creatures, and objects.
* Adhere to project timelines and production schedules while maintaining a commitment to delivering high-quality rigs that align with the project’s artistic and technical requirements.
* Work closely with other departments, such as modellers and animators, to ensure rigs are intuitive, efficient, and easy to animate, troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
* Work with artists and technicians to achieve the project's desired result in Unreal Engine.
* Analyzing constraints and needs, and defining technical directives while sharing them in a clear manner with the whole team
* Suggesting efficient production methods that are in keeping with the initial guidelines and budgets/constraints (game memory/size)
* Creating, maintaining and documenting tools/scripts dedicated to production needs
* Training artists in new production techniques and ensuring that those methods are compatible with the constraints of the game engine
* Making sure that the elements produced are compatible with the various target platforms and that they are properly integrated and have the intended impact on performance
* Ensuring that there is proper monitoring of the technical and artistic processes
* Maintaining a superior level of quality
Qualifications
Qualifications
:
* 5+ years in a similar role
* Expertise in Unreal Engine Tools
* Expertise in 3D Tools: Maya, 3Ds Max, ZBrush, Blender, Substance
* Have expert knowledge of: Python, dotnet/C#
* Have experience of device limitations and challenges.
* Excellent ability to communicate technical terms and information to all project stakeholders
* Proficiency in 3D Modelling, Texturing, Shading, Lighting, Rendering, Skinning, Rigging, VFX, and Animation.
* Excellent professional English skill
