We are offering a paid 12‐month traineeship, designed for people with disability who are looking to start or restart their career in a structured, supportive office environment.
Eligibility
* People with disability aged 18 years and over
* Individuals eligible for traineeships under relevant training and employment frameworks
* Jobseekers residing within or able to access Inner West Sydney locations
What is the Government Information Public Access (GIPA) traineeship?
Kickstart your career in Business Administration with Inner West Council. This hands‐on role lets you earn while you learn, completing a Certificate III in Business Administration (BSB30120) while working in our GIPA team. Over 12 months, you receive on‐the‐job training blended with online learning, gaining skills to support high‐quality public access to information services and build a foundation for future roles.
About the role
Make a meaningful impact by supporting transparency, accountability, and trust in local government. You will help ensure the community has appropriate access to information while protecting privacy and strengthening ethical decision‐making across Council. Your work supports Councillors, staff, and the community, contributing to strong governance practices.
Key responsibilities
• Supporting and processing information access requests• Redacting information where required before responding• Communicating effectively with the public, co‐workers and management• Working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Qualifications & skills
* Willingness and interest in attaining a Cert III in Business Administration
* Commitment to undertake and complete all required tasks
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Strong communication skills with the public, co‐workers, and management
