About The Role Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Performance & Analytics, this is a full-time, permanent position within the Finance team. As a Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting critical aspects of the Finance Division, leveraging your analytical expertise to deliver both BAU activities and ad hoc projects. Your responsibilities will include: Leading complex financial management activities aligned with business requirements. Driving the identification, design, and implementation of process improvement initiatives. Supporting Finance Business Partners through analysis, reporting, and strategic collaboration. Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Managing month-end processes, performance monitoring, and reporting in line with Melbourne Water policies, procedures, and strategic priorities. Salary: MW EA Level 6.1 - $106,178 Super About You Strong understanding of both financial and management accounting principles, including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and the impact of key financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow). Solid knowledge of accounting standards, management accounting practices, auditing, and internal controls. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Proven ability in financial modelling. Experience in analysing large datasets using Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with data analytics tools, with Power BI experience highly regarded. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge and experience with accounting software systems; TechOne experience is an advantage. Strong communication and presentation skills, coupled with a high level of customer service when engaging with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated capability to identify and implement process improvements. Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think laterally. Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
