About the role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking an accomplished executive to lead its Procurement Branch and shape the future of procurement in Western Australia's public transport system. This is a role of significant influence and responsibility, requiring a leader who can set strategy, deliver results, and uphold the highest standards of governance.
Reporting at the highest level, you will set the direction of procurement across goods, services, and works. You will lead a high-performing team, oversee high-value contracts, and ensure every outcome delivers measurable value to the community.
Your leadership will extend beyond process. You will build critical stakeholder relationships, safeguard compliance with legislation and drive procurement initiatives that advance government objectives. You will lift procurement from an operational function to a strategic lever that delivers innovation, efficiency, and performance across the agency.

About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and/or MCIPS (Member Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) equivalent.
* Extensive experience in procurement of goods, services and works and the application of procurement policies and procedures.
* Very good knowledge and understanding of trends, developments and benchmarks affecting the procurement and contracting environment.
* Strategic leadership skills to inspire and influence, leverage expertise and resources to achieve quality outcomes.
* Highly developed leadership and management skills with a focus on providing sound strategic direction and support to achieve outcomes.
* High-level written and verbal communications and experience in negotiation, with the ability to effectively communicate at the most senior levels in the private and public sectors.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
To be eligible to work permanently at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen, have Permanent Residency status or hold a current visa with permanent working rights in Australia.
