Join our Finance team as an Accounts Payable Officer. This is a full-time permanent role based at the Cheltenham Office, with hybrid options (2 days working from home).
Band 4 $74,303 - $79,054 per annum (dependent on experience) plus superannuation.
Kingston Council's focus is on delivering exceptional service that achieves our vision and meets community expectations. The Finance department manages Council's finances to ensure compliance with statutory financial and reporting obligations and Council's long-term financial sustainability. Responsibilities include the preparation of the Annual Budget and Long Term Financial Plan and administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. The department also oversees Council's property and rating database and the annual revaluation of properties to ensure rate revenue is raised accurately and on time.

Responsibilities
* Receive, review and prepare invoices for processing, ensuring invoice details align with requirements.
* Provide guidance to staff on accounts payable procedures, ensuring invoices and payment requests are completed correctly, including account costing allocations and GST compliance.
* Forward invoices to responsible officers for authority and costing details and monitor timely payment; follow up on outstanding invoices as needed.
* Ensure GST/GST-related ATO requirements are met and report discrepancies to the Responsible Finance Officer.
* Input invoice details into the TechnologyOne system, scan invoices and process through to payment.
What You'll Bring
* Experience in Accounts Payable tasks in a large organisation (minimum 5 years).
* Experience with accounting software (TechnologyOne preferred but not mandatory).
* Strong Excel, Word and numeracy skills.
* Finance qualifications desired but not required.
* High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to work autonomously and make decisions; able to meet tight deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work as a team player with a can-do attitude.
