About the role
As an Associate Midwife Unit Manager you'll assist in the leadership; planning and delivery of a high quality service within Barwon Health's Maternity Service whilst developing a professional and collaborative partnership in the management of either Birth Suite or the Postnatal/Antenatal Ward.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Unit Manager in the operational management of the ward/unit
* Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing and midwifery staff
* Coordinate patient flow and staffing allocation on a shift-by-shift basis
* Promote a culture of safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
* Deliver exceptional postnatal care to women, babies, and families
* Act as a role model and mentor for junior staff
* Assist with staff education, performance management, and development
What we're looking for
* Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA
* Demonstrated clinical experience in maternity care
* Proven leadership or management experience (or readiness to step into leadership)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
* Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement
