**About the role**:
The Agency is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director for its Software Asset Management team. Leading a team of asset officers managing all aspects of the software asset management lifecycle for the Agency, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimising the ICT Software Asset Management function.
The EL1, Assistant Director of ICT Software Asset Management, will be responsible for the designing, developing, building, and owning the Service Portfolio catalogues, frameworks and documentation. The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in complex problem solving and issues management within the functions. The position will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
You will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the Agency's objectives. The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and may be required to represent and negotiate on behalf of the Agency to advance the Agency's interests across a range of forums.
**Duties**
- Leading the Agency's Software Asset Management team, delivering essential ICT software services to the Agency.
- Designing, building, deploying, and supporting the Agency's software catalogue
- Maintain the required financial reporting and forecasting associated with managing software licences and budgets, including variance analysis and management reporting
- Build capability in the team through coaching, performance feedback, conflict resolution and career development opportunities.
- Develop and communicate insights that guide data driven action and decision making, that relate to savings, cost reduction and financial optimisation
**Required experience/skills**
- Demonstrated 5 years' experience leading teams to deliver ICT services through ICT management frameworks such as ITIL.
- Demonstrated experience with ICT Software Asset Management
- Demonstrated experience in each of the following areas: software licencing, catalogue creation, demand and capacity management
- Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to difficult and complex problems.
- Experience working in Government or providing services to Government agency
