About the Role
The Structural Heart Coordinator is responsible for the central coordination of the patients within the structural heart program at North Shore Private Hospital.
Key Accountabilities
- Facilitation of clinical work‑up testing and consultations for patients
- Patient admission management
- Case preparation and presentation at the Structural Heart MDT meetings
- Patient pre‑operative and post‑operative clinical review
- Outpatient follow‑up
- Education for nursing staff
- Education for patients and their carers
The Structural Heart Coordinator works closely with key stakeholders and this role requires a high level of leadership, clinical expertise and coordination to ensure best patient outcomes. The coordinator collects data, performs audits and assesses patient outcomes to ensure clinical indicators associated with the program are being met.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have excellent clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
You will also demonstrate
- Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA)
- Relevant post‑graduate qualification plus 12 months experience working in the clinical specialty area
- Current clinical knowledge in structural disease cardiology and the current treatments
- Demonstrated ability to partake in quality improvement activities and promote an environment that encourages the application of these principles
