Overview
Manager, Engineering and Assets (Chief Engineer) for Hunters Hill Council. This role leads the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and asset management outcomes for the community, reporting to the Director Infrastructure & Environmental Sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and manage the Engineering Services team to deliver infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
* Act as the asset owner for multiple asset classes, ensuring compliance with relevant asset management policies, strategies, and plans.
* Manage the development and implementation of Asset Management Systems and Maintenance Management Systems.
* Oversee complex civil infrastructure designs and provide authoritative technical advice to Council, stakeholders, and the community.
* Deliver effective project management including procurement, contract administration, and budget control.
* Engage in high-level consultation and liaison with residents, government agencies, contractors, and elected officials.
* Drive innovation and sustainability in infrastructure planning and delivery.
Essential Criteria
* Degree in Civil Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (mandatory).
* Demonstrated experience in civil and building design, asset management, and delivery of civil works programs.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing professional engineering teams.
* Extensive project management experience with proven budgetary and contractual oversight.
* High-level communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.
* Current Class C Driver's Licence.
