Mandatory Requirements
* Eligibility to work in Australia
* Trade certificate (min of Cert III Air-conditioning and Refrigeration)
* Current Full Refrigerant Handling Licence, Restricted Electrical Licence, and Construction Industry White Card
* Current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent
* Working knowledge and compliance with current work health, safety and environmental legislation and codes of practice
About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing essential services to government-owned assets, including construction, maintenance, and restoration. Support the government's response to disaster events and train the next generation of tradespeople.
You will maintain, repair, and install refrigeration and AC systems in our correctional facility. You'll ensure all equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
* Carry out refrigeration and air-conditioning works
* Demonstrate proficiency in office and email applications
* Understand safe working methods in terms of asbestos and lead based products
* Comply with WHS legislation and site rules including daily risk assessments, identify hazards and risk, and comply with reasonable health and safety policies
* Demonstrate personal responsibility for the health safety and wellbeing of yourself and ensure that your conduct, acts or omissions do not adversely affect the safety of other persons or property
* Demonstrate behaviour that supports a diverse, equitable and safe workplace, with a strong customer focus.
* Train, mentor and provide professional support to apprentices
* You may be required to undertake duties at worksites throughout your appointed region and the State
* When undertaking distant work, there may also be a requirement for overnight stays
* Safety clothing and personal protective equipment will be provided
* You may be asked to undertake team leader and/or foreperson roles as and when required
* Power tools will be provided where required
* The use of a private motor vehicle and/or potential provision of a QBuild vehicle will be in accordance with motor vehicle policies. Please note there is no guarantee that a home garaged QBuild vehicle will be included
