Job Title: Senior Accountant

This is a key role within our Finance team, focused on managing revenue accounting processes and ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements. The successful applicant will have responsibility for preparing and reviewing revenue related journals and reconciliations, tracking grants, and overseeing statutory lodgements, acquittals, and financial returns.
\
In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Accountant will support junior finance staff and provide guidance on accounting processes. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong attention to detail, sound knowledge of accounting principles, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in a public health setting.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
\
\
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field;
\
* Experience in accounting or financial reporting, preferably within the health or public sector;
\
* Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data;
\
* Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial systems;
\
* Proficiency in general ledger maintenance and period-end processes;
\
* Sound understanding of accounting standards and legislative requirements;
\
* Excellent time management and problem-solving skills;
\
* Ability to communicate with staff of all levels.

The benefits of this role include five weeks of annual leave per year, long service leave accrues at 2 weeks for every 60 weeks of continuous service, double the standard entitlement, and salary packaging of up to $9,010 (living expenses) and $2,650 (meals/ entertainment).
