Job Description
Your new career Surf Coast Shire Council is currently looking to fill two permanent part‐time Kindergarten roles. What you will bring to the role We are currently looking for Early Childhood Educators who are compassionate, dedicated and driven to making a positive impact on the lives of our local community members and their families.
To thrive in this role you will have:
* Knowledge of early childhood development and practice.
* Knowledge of approved learning frameworks, National Quality Framework and national law and regulations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Position 1 - Early Childhood Educator – Jan Juc Preschool
Bush Kinder Additional Assistant & Lunch Cover 17.5 hours per week 15.5 hours contact time (as below), plus 2 hours non‐contact time (negotiable spread across the week)
Contact time
* Tuesday: 8:30am – 11:30am (bush kinder) and 11:45am – 12:45am (lunch cover)
* Wednesday: 8:30am – 11:30am and 1:00pm– 4:00pm (bush kinder)
* Thursday: 11:30am – 2:00pm (lunch cover)
* Friday: 11:00am – 1:30pm (lunch cover)
Position 2 - Early Childhood Educator – Torquay Kindergarten
Bush Kinder Additional Assistant & Lunch Cover 17.5 hours per week 16 hours contact time (as below) plus 1.5 hours non‐contact time
Contact time
* Monday: 11:00am – 2:00pm (lunch cover)
* Tuesday: 11:30am – 1:30pm (lunch cover)
* Wednesday: 8:30am – 11:30am and 1:00pm– 4:00pm (bush kinder)
* Thursday: 8:30am – 11:30am (bush kinder)
* Friday: 11:30am – 1:30pm (lunch cover)
Key Selection Criteria
* Minimum Certificate III in Children's Services from an ACECQA approved training organisation.
* Demonstrated experience working with children and families.
* Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an educational program in accordance with approved learning frameworks.
* Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and an understanding of how this impacts on daily practice.
* Excellent skills in verbal and written communication with children, staff and the wider community.
* Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff.
* Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to workplace.
* A current level II First Aid qualification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR.
