Position Overview
School of Political Science & International Studies – Part‐time (40%), permanent Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Peace and Conflict Studies.
Base salary will be in the range $117,120 – $138,769 plus 17% superannuation (Academic LevelB). The position is based at the StLucia Campus.
Key responsibilities include:
* Develop and deliver courses, tutorials and workshops/seminars; design curriculum; coordinate courses; assess students; provide academic counselling; adhere to university teaching rules.
* Demonstrate leadership through mentoring, internal service roles and committees; perform administrative functions; support colleagues; uphold university values.
Qualifications:
* PhD or equivalent in Peace and Conflict Studies or a cognate disciplinary area.
* Evidence of high‐quality university teaching in Peace and Conflict Studies across a variety of settings; include both small and large groups at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
* Emerging profile of teaching impact in Peace and Conflict Studies and/or education research within the discipline; or emerging research profile with high‐quality outputs in the discipline.
* Participation in projects that improve curriculum, pedagogy, or assessment practices of others.
* Involvement in curriculum development at the program and/or course level in Peace and Conflict Studies.
* Experience in supervising honours and research higher‐degree students (where appropriate) in education research and/or discipline research.
* Well‐developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.
* Professional expertise that complements and/or supplements the existing expertise within the School and the broader University.
