Senior Executive - Standards and Integrity

Talent International is partnering with Department of Education in sourcing a highly skilled and experienced professional to join as a Senior Executive in the Standards and Integrity Department. As a Senior Executive, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic leadership and management in the development and implementation of policies and programs related to misconduct and corruption prevention services within the education portfolio.


Job Responsibility Summary

* Provide strategic leadership and management for delivering misconduct and corruption prevention services in the Education portfolio.
* Offer strategic advice to senior management on critical integrity issues affecting the Department.
* Professionally investigate complaints and allegations against staff, including public interest disclosures, serious misconduct, and breaches of discipline.
* Ensure compliance with relevant Australian and Government standards in handling complaints related to staff conduct.
* Oversee standards and integrity across the portfolio, ensuring statutory obligations are met and department policies are appropriate and compliant.
* Represent the Department in interagency groups, committees, and stakeholder engagements.
* Develop and implement continuous improvement measures for complaints investigation and discipline management.
* Promote cultural responsiveness and adherence to the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.
* Maintain ethical practice and uphold the Department's values of integrity, equity, voice, truth-telling, teamwork, care, and learning.
* Collaborate with other leadership teams to achieve department objectives.


Additional Responsibilities

* Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Department's accountability framework.
* Monitor integrity issues, trends, and best practices, and develop strategies accordingly.
* Implement quality assurance processes within the Directorate.
* Oversee financial, human resources, and risk management activities.
* Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including commissions, police, and other government departments.
* Ensure equity and equal employment opportunities within the Directorate.
* Manage employment processes and leave entitlements.
* Implement performance management and foster professional development for staff.
* Lead the development and implementation of strategic policies, standards, and legislative reforms.
* Manage the Directorate's budget, develop budget strategies, and maximize funding sources.
* Consult with stakeholders and provide accurate information on professional integrity and ethical standards.
* Foster partnerships with key interest groups and respond to government requirements as needed.
