Building 3 & 4, The Mill, 41-43 Bourke Road, Alexandria, NSW, 2015, AUSTRALIA

Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and creatively driven Design Assistant to support the Design Team at Seafolly.

Reporting to a Senior Designer, this role supports the development of the seasonal Seafolly collection.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, a passion for resort lifestyle fashion, and a desire to build hands‐on experience with a global brand.

This role is full‐time, based in our Support Centre in Alexandria, NSW.

You will:

* Create and maintain CADs, colourways and design presentations – Develop detailed CAD drawings and multiple colourway options aligned to seasonal briefs, ensuring all files are accurately updated, clearly labelled and organised for use across sales, wholesale and internal teams. You'll also contribute to visually engaging presentations that communicate design intent effectively.
* Support end‐to‐end range development and sourcing – Work closely with designers and offshore suppliers to source and develop fabrics, trims and accessories. This includes researching options, communicating requirements to mills and vendors, and ensuring all components align with design vision, quality standards and cost targets.
* Track and manage fabric development and sampling processes – Oversee the progress of lab dips, strike‐offs, fabric developments and sample requests. Maintain clear records of approvals, follow up with suppliers to meet deadlines, and manage the ordering of fabric swatches, sampling materials and development samples.
* Maintain detailed material and supplier data – Accurately record fabric and trim pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs) and lead times. Ensure all information is up to date and easily accessible to support costing decisions, production planning and supplier negotiations.
* Prepare and maintain tech packs and PLM data – Build and update comprehensive tech packs for each product, including specifications, construction details and material codes. Manage all related product data within the PLM system (AP21), ensuring accuracy and consistency across the development lifecycle.
* Manage trackers and support production readiness – Maintain Excel‐based trackers such as WIPs (Work in Progress), critical paths, costing tools and sample logs. Regularly update timelines, flag risks and collaborate with production, technical and product teams to ensure smooth progression from development to bulk production.
* Assist with fittings, reviews and presentations – Support fit sessions by recording feedback, tracking changes and ensuring follow‐up actions are completed. Assist with sample reviews, prepare comments for suppliers, and contribute to internal range reviews, presentations and showroom set‐up for sales activities.
* Contribute to brand execution, shoots and trend research – Assist at e‐commerce shoots and range presentations, including backstage support and styling. Work alongside the Senior Designer on trend, colour and market research, contributing ideas to seasonal concepts and staying informed on emerging materials, techniques and industry trends.

You have:

* Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or related discipline
* 1–2 years' experience in a similar role preferred
* Strong understanding of construction, fabrication and fit
* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design
* Comfortable maintaining Excel‐based trackers, cost calculators and sample order sheets
* Experience working with PLM systems (AP21 preferred)
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with overseas suppliers
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment
* Passion for swim and resort lifestyle, fashion and global brand

We offer:

* 50% employee discounts on Seafolly, JETS & Tigerlily products
* Paid parental leave

* Access to our Employee Assistance Program via the Sonder Platform
* Great work culture in a passionate team environment
