What we are looking for :
In this role youll be more than just the numbers person youll be a trusted business partner guiding leaders with expert financial insight and advice.
Youll drive the development of major operational budgets ensure Councils long-term plans are backed by solid financial strategies and play a key role in presenting insights to our Executive and Councillors.
With ownership of budgeting systems reporting tools and data models youll influence decisions that directly impact our community. If youre ready to combine technical expertise with meaningful impact this is the opportunity to step up and make a real difference.
What your day will look like :
Lead financial business partnering services providing expert advice analysis and modelling to support informed decision-making across Council.
Develop manage and monitor major operational expenditure budgets including salaries fleet and other key cost areas.
Coordinate inputs and analysis for the annual budget long-term financial plan and forward works programs.
Oversee financial systems data integrity and reporting tools ensuring accurate information for planning and decision-making.
Prepare and deliver variance reports presentations and other documentation for leadership and Councillor budget sessions.
Provide financial guidance to business areas including project setup reporting and resolution of ledger or system issues.

What youll need for success :
Demonstrated experience knowledge and ability to provide accurate and efficient financial support in delivery of annual budgets and financial services in a medium / large organisation.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to provide professional advice repo rts and documentation to a variety of stakeholders and the ability to influence outcomes.
A high level of computer literacy and keyboard skills with an emphasis on software system databases data extraction spreadsheets and work processes.
Highly developed interpretation skills and knowledge of legislation legal processes Australian Accounting Standards and Auditing Standards.
Current drivers licence
Whats nice to have :
CPA or equivalent
