Overview
Howard Porter is a family-owned company that designs and builds high-quality transport equipment for the mining, resources and transport industries. We are expanding and looking for a Health, Safety and Training Coordinator to support our health and safety needs. The role can be full-time or part-time, depending on the successful applicant's preference.
Key Tasks
Implement and maintain safety systems.
Monitor and improve safety performance, reducing risk by identifying improvements and introducing appropriate initiatives and controls.
Review, develop, implement and promote corporate health and safety standards, SOPs, strategies and practices.
Build effective working relationships and provide technical guidance and advice on best health and safety practice and innovations to the production team.
Conduct inspections, audits and incident investigations as required.
Oversee the training register.
Maintain, monitor and report safety statistics and performance.
Qualifications
At least two years' experience in a similar health and safety role, preferably within heavy manufacturing or a related environment.
Strong understanding of safety management and a stakeholder-focused approach to implementing and executing risk management tools and hazard controls.
Ability to identify and implement health and safety improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of high-risk and compliance training options and ability to identify training gaps.
