Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Female Disability Support Worker to provide specialized care and support to a female client with complex behaviors of concern. This role requires a compassionate and patient individual who can build trust and rapport while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behavioral Support: Implement and follow behavior support plans tailored to the client's specific needs, ensuring safety and promoting positive outcomes.
- Personal Care: Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and other daily living activities.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications according to the care plan, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Community Access: Support the client in accessing community activities, social engagements, and appointments, promoting social inclusion and independence.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond effectively to challenging behaviors and crises, using approved de-escalation techniques and maintaining a calm, supportive presence.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of the client's progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Communication: Collaborate with the client's family, healthcare providers, and other support staff to ensure consistent and holistic care.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development to stay informed about best practices in disability support and behavior management.
Qualifications:
- Certifications: Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or related field.
- Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with complex behaviors of concern is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
- Requirements:
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- COVID-19 vaccination certificate (if applicable).

Pay: $32.00 – $43.00 per hour
