Our flagship program, YAL Connect, offers scholarships and holistic support to young Australians who face barriers to achieving their aspirations.
This program has grown from supporting 7 young people in 2015 to 91 over the last 10 years, offering not only financial assistance but also a wraparound support system to ensure success.
About the role:
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Youth Worker to join our team in a full-time role.
This role will have the primary accountability of working alongside our scholarship recipients ensuring successful completion of our education program.
Key responsibilities
- Mentoring : Build strong, supportive relationships with scholarship recipients, offering guidance, advice, and encouragement.
- Tracking & Reporting : Collect data, monitor progress, and report on outcomes to assess program effectiveness.
- Collaboration : Work with community partners, support services, and other organisations to provide holistic support to recipients.
- Communication : Engage with recipients and stakeholders through a variety of communication channels, including in-person meetings and virtual platforms.

Your Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience (3 + years) in mentoring and supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience in gathering data and preparing reports on program outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Cultural competency and sensitivity when working with diverse groups.
- Driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel.
- Working with Children Card
- National Police Clearance (less than three months old).

- Qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related field.
