Aurora Training Institute is a progressive Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that specialises in delivering quality training solutions. Aurora is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead and coordinate Aurora's Quality Assurance (Compliance) function.
Working closely with the General Manager – Training and Corporate Services, this role provides high‐level compliance leadership across the Institute, ensuring Aurora's systems and practices meet the Standards for RTOs, relevant state‐based contract requirements, and industry expectations, while supporting strong student and client experiences.
This is a hands‐on leadership role based at Aurora's Head Office in Robina, Gold Coast and combines compliance expertise, audit management, quality systems oversight, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership and team management – Lead and coordinate Aurora's Quality Assurance (Compliance) department; manage QA staff performance and capability development including performance reviews, training, recognition, and performance management; coordinate leave coverage and team resourcing to ensure effective department operations; oversee recruitment, induction and training of new team members as required.
* Quality systems and continuous improvement – Design, implement and maintain Aurora's Quality Management System (QMS); lead reviews of internal and external policies, procedures, and operational systems to strengthen compliance and quality outcomes; identify compliance vulnerabilities and risks and provide practical guidance and recommendations to the General Manager – Training and Corporate Services.
* Compliance, audits and regulatory readiness – Provide timely, accurate compliance advice to staff and (where required) clients; systematically monitor compliance across enrolment, eligibility evidence, student assessment and related governance processes; manage internal and external compliance audits, including audit planning, evidence coordination, corrective actions, and reporting; review current systems against legislation and program policy requirements.
* Training product governance and scope management – Manage validation schedules and support industry validation of courseware and assessment tools; oversee Aurora's scope of registration including additions, transitions and removals of qualifications; liaise with and monitor third‐party partners (where applicable) to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Marketing and stakeholder engagement – Review and authorise marketing material for RTO use to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards; participate in professional development, conferences and networking events as required; build strong working relationships across Aurora to support quality practices and compliance confidence.
Selection Criteria
* Experience and knowledge – Demonstrated experience within a Registered Training Organisation, in compliance, complex administration, operational leadership, or similar; strong working knowledge of the Standards for RTOs and the practical application of compliance requirements; experience conducting internal/external audits and implementing recommendations/action plans; highly developed digital capability including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) and confidence using digital tools to improve quality systems; experience with aXcelerate and/or Cloud Assess (highly regarded); experience with the Queensland SAS Provider framework (highly regarded); NSW Smart & Skilled contracts and/or CRICOS experience (highly desirable).
* Personal attributes – High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills; strong people leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams; excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure; highly motivated, with the ability to motivate others and drive performance; sound judgement, initiative, and problem‐solving capability including negotiation and complaints resolution.
