As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join the team.
About the role
The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for managing the legal workstream for CIMIC Energy as a qualified solicitor in a commercially minded manner, primarily focused on bids for project-financed infrastructure projects such as PPPs.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Lead and advise on the legal workstream for energy projects from early-stage development to operations.
* Collaborate closely with project finance and technical teams to ensure transaction deliverables align with project timelines.
* Manage, draft, and/or review legal documents while overseeing external lawyers as needed.
* Identify key commercial and legal risks in projects and prepare possible solutions.
* Attend and support internal review and approval processes.
Your skills and experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in law and qualified to practice as a solicitor in an Australian state.
* Holder of a current Practising Certificate issued by an Australian state.
* Practising lawyer with over 10 years of experience.
* Comprehensive understanding of and experience in areas of law relevant to energy projects, such as construction/EPC contracts, project finance, or corporate/ M&A.
