The Clinical Nurse Educator – Acute Deterioration and Simulation is accountable for applying nursing expertise and contemporary teaching and learning practice to implement education programs for nurses that align with the strategic priorities of Hospitals North/North West, respond to emerging clinical need, and facilitates professional development for the nursing workforce.

The Clinical Nurse Educator – Acute Deterioration and Simulation is accountable for applying nursing expertise and contemporary teaching and learning practice to implement education programs for nurses that align with the strategic priorities of Hospitals North/North West, respond to emerging clinical need, and facilitates professional development for the nursing workforce.

This role:

* Coordinates the Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support (ALS) training across the region.
* Leads safe and quality nursing care through the advancement of evidence-based nursing practice and patient-centred care in recognition and response to acute deterioration.
* Applies high level professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing, midwifery and multidisciplinary stakeholders to enact education and development strategies for nursing and midwifery practice and the Organisation.
* Plans, assesses, implements and evaluates educational programs to ensure they align with the needs of the Organisation and nursing workforce.
* Models commitment to the values of the nursing profession including open communication to build respectful relationships across the multidisciplinary team and has accountability, integrity, and contributes to positive workplace culture.
* Works in accordance with the strategic direction of Hospitals North/North West and the Organisations Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Framework.

Details of appointment

* Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 24 May 2026; hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

Recognised as an Australian Resuscitation Council ALS Instructor (ALS 1 & 2) to deliver education and training

Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning and clinical simulation

Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in the area of clinical/practice speciality as relevant to the position
