The opportunity
We are seeking expressions of interest from passionate, experienced and suitably qualified people to join our team of Behaviour Support Practitioners on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be accountable for delivering:
- A safe, caring and supportive environment for people to discuss their concerns and actively participate in the positive behaviour support process;
- Thorough and personalised functional behaviour assessments and comprehensive behaviour support plans in a timely manner;
- Practical strategies to positively influence behaviour change and deliver improved quality of life outcomes;
- Services in accordance with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures including actions to continuously improve such processes;
- Resources and training to a broad cross section of stakeholders including support workers, families, and carers;
- Timely and qualified response to behavioural incidents in accordance with industry standards and company policy including safeguarding obligations.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Registration with NDIS as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Proficient level or above;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, education or associated field;
- Extensive knowledge of positive behaviour support including the legislative framework and providing support from a social model of disability;
- A proven track record of working from a systems perspective to empower families and carers;
- Relevant clearances and certificates to work in the NDIS field.
