**The Role**
This is a new created permanent position. You will be responsible for the creation and delivery of Safety / Compliance initiatives on a national scale. You will be responsible for developing, monitoring, implementing and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures
**Responsibilities**
- Scheduling audits, as well as investigating, actioning, and closing any findings from audits
- Developing, maintaining and reviewing policies, procedures, manuals, SWMS, SOPs, as required
- Reviewing work practices and ensuring compliance
- Conducting regular Risk Assessments
- Managing Fatigue, Mass & Maintenance Management Systems
- Investigating work-place incidents, near misses, hazards and collisions interviewing, reviewing evidence, writing reports and actioning
- Advising on non-conformance
- Managing training requirements for safety
- Coaching employees on best work practices
- Compiling periodical reports
- Developing Toolbox Talks/Safety Alerts
- Managing safety meetings and participate in senior management meetings as required
**About You**
A motivated and driven safety professional, you have strong knowledge and previous experience in Compliance and WHS, ideally within transport or materials handling industries. Along with;
- Prior experience and sound knowledge of Safety & Compliance and WHS
- Knowledge of HVNL, COR, WHSMS
- Ability to develop and improve strategies on compliance & safety performance analysis
- Drive a culture of caring about teams and customers
- Ensuring compliance with legislative and customers' requirements, reduces risks and minimises workplace injuries.
- Ideally experience in Change & People Management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to identify areas of development or gaps within the business and take action to introduce processes to close gaps
