Gleeds Australia is looking to strengthen their commercial team in Adelaide following the announcement of significant infrastructure investment and futuristic solutions to their Defence programmes. This would be a varied role taking on all aspects of the commercial arena with a focus on partnering with supply chains to delivery production and manufacturing projects to cost, schedule and quality. A typical day to day could involve -
4. Management of contracts from inception (pre-contract support e.g., tender evaluation) to completion (post-contract support)
5. Operating with bespoke forms of contract
6. Taking a lead role with clients to ensure work is done to specification and to cost as well as seeking out contract improvements
7. Stakeholder Engagement across a portfolio of projects
8. Issuing /reviewing early warning notices
9. Priced and Assessed Compensation Events
10. Monthly Commercial Reporting
11. Management of Contractors and Subcontractors accounts
12. Updating Risk Registers
13. Reviewing programmes
14. Issuing payment certs and valuation assessment of the works
15. Lead and mentor junior members of the team
About You
What we are looking for in our next team member:
16. Previous experience within the Defence industry is essential
17. Experience working within a team on complex project and proven ability to effectively progress issues and resolve actions.
18. Strong written and verbal skills and attention to detail.
19. Strong commercial skills and proven capabilities with subcontract negotiation and management.
20. Intermediate with Oracle, or similar MRP based system, and Microsoft Office suite.
21. Ideally HNC, HND or Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar / relevant discipline, or in some case applicants with an alternative background (e.g.: Engineering) may be considered.
22. Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable, and will be supported if not already attained.
