As Transport Manager, you'll ensure compliance, optimise delivery routes, develop your team, drive continuous improvement and ensure every load reaches its destination efficiently, safely, on-time and with a strong customer focus.
What You'll Do:
* Oversee and schedule the vehicle fleet to maximise utilisation, safety, and performance
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of professional drivers and loading personnel
* Implement and use fleet management and route optimisation software to boost productivity
* Manage cost-effective transportation practices, monitoring fuel, labour, and maintenance expenses
* Ensure compliance with safety standards, transport laws, and regulatory requirements
* Conduct safety audits and training: toolbox talks, pre-starts, load inspection, and compliance updates
* Collaborate with customer service and production teams to meet customer expectations and delivery targets
* Address customer inquiries, complaints, and improve service levels collaboratively
* Report on key fleet performance, delivery metrics, and cost analysis for continuous improvement
What You'll Bring:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in transportation/logistics management
* Proven track record in fleet management and optimising delivery routes
* Comprehensive knowledge of transport laws, health and safety, and compliance standards
* Advanced leadership and team management skills, with ability to provide feedback and drive results
* Proficiency with fleet management/route planning software
* Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and commitment to operational improvement
Nice to Have (But Not Essential):
* Diploma of Logistics or related qualification
* Experience in building products or related industries
* Familiarity with sustainability practices in transportation
