Job Description
The Product Engineer is responsible for supporting, developing, and continuously improving Metso products throughout their lifecycle. This role ensures product quality, performance, and reliability by closely collaborating with manufacturing, field services, sales, suppliers, and customers, while also contributing to new product development and technical knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities
* Own technical responsibility for a defined portfolio of products, covering manufacturing follow-up, quality, processes, suppliers, and procurement.
* Support field installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities to ensure product performance and customer satisfaction.
* Participate in the development of new products, including design support, manufacturing follow-up, and field testing, under guidance of senior engineers.
* Provide technical support to Sales by reviewing and contributing to commercial proposals and technical specifications.
* Deliver technical training to internal teams, representatives, and customers to ensure correct application, operation, and commercialization of products.
* Develop engineering projects, applications, and cost estimates of moderate complexity, subject to technical review by senior engineers.
* Plan and execute assigned activities within agreed timelines and quality standards.
* Identify and propose cost reduction, standardization, and continuous improvement opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) policies and ISO 9001 quality management standards.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* 2–4 years of relevant experience in product engineering environments.
* Solid understanding of mining products and feeder equipment.
* Working knowledge of international and national technical standards.
Technical Skills
* Product application (Apron Feeders, Belt Feeders and Wobbler Feeders) and performance analysis
* Electrical systems and electric motors
* Instrumentation and automation (basic to intermediate)
* Hydraulics and pneumatics
* Failure analysis and root cause analysis
