Commencing on a 12-month contract in February 2026, the Athletes Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery and execution of the Australian Athlete Marketing Program in line with wider business objectives & strategies (local market needs) while considering Global Sports direction. The role of Athlete manager includes athlete portfolio management, athlete project ideation and delivery and building strong networks in the Australian sports industry for trends, project opportunities, collaboration and talent identification. The Athlete Manager in partnership with Athletes is responsible for delivering marketing plans for year-round activity including athlete projects, self-marketing, activations, and commercial trade opportunities across the Red Bull Marketing & Sales mix. The role requires strong internal relationships across the business to maximise outcomes across the full Red Bull Marketing & Sales Mix to leverage the Athlete portfolio.
Job Description
EXECUTE THE ATHLETE MARKETING PLAN
* Deliver athlete 360 plans in collaboration with Sports & Red Bull Media Networks to drive impact and strategic priorities. This includes revising annual 360 Athlete & National Hero Plans as needed, exemplary execution of the current plans and building for the following year.
* Leading athlete projects – including ideating Red Bull ideas alongside athletes and internal networks to develop, feasibly check and deliver credible only Red Bull can projects, both large scale and done in a day formats and delivering to budget. Work with selected athletes on ideation sessions on a regular basis designed to identify athlete projects, activations, performance, and marketing opportunities.
* Deliver and execute a strong plan ahead of the Winter Olympic Games in 2026.
* Drive longer term athlete marketing strategies within local market, including portfolio planning, athlete projects and athlete marketing activities.
* Regularly review (nominated) individual athlete support package consisting of marketing (tools, salary, bonus, marketing), communications and performance support, assured through strong relationships designed to maximize the relevant scene impact with the consumer.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT & NEGOTIATION
* Collaborate with international & local counterparts to support in development of strong local athlete marketing and communication programs, with the Red Bull HQ team, local and HQ Media Network & Global counterparts.
* Develop strong relationships with athlete partners, industry brands and other key organizations in order to foster potential future partnerships and other relevant leverage opportunities.
* Moderate amounts of travel to priority sporting scenes in order to support the establishment of networks, scouting and brand relevance.
* Develop strong relationships with athlete managers, or relevant athlete family members through regular communication.
* Regular communication with HQ & local on all athlete 360 plans, providing constant updates on athlete's performance, projects & activations throughout the year.
MARKETING LEVERAGE
* Establish Red Bull as a functional beverage and innovative brand in sports (athletes, many sport scenes, opinion leaders, creators, sport industry, agencies, media, federations, authorities etc…) by setting up a strong network and driving product education and functional sustainable usage.
* Strong usage of Red Bull's global athlete and event portfolio by leveraging international Red Bull athletes nationally and sending national participants (Red Bull athletes or not) to foreign Red Bull activities.
* Design and contribute unique stories, interesting topics, exciting innovative projects, new formats and top media content for Red Bull Media House and collaborate on the bigger marketing plans around each athlete.
* Manage in partnership with Head of Athletes and Red Bull Media Network team, collaborate on delivering the annual business plan including the design of unique athlete stories, project planning, target setting, execution, activation and maximising consumer impact through the Red Bull Marketing Mix.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS
* In consultation with Head of Athletes and the legal team, manage commercial negotiations and the development of legal agreements aligned to international and local requirements.
* Work closely with the communications & legal team to coordinate the production of high editorial value in compliance with technical specifications of the Red Bull Media Network, rights cleared and delivered on time with full legal compliance to Australian law and internal legal process.
* Manage various project teams to deliver athlete projects on time, every time with executional excellence in mind, keeping stakeholders across details and always sticking to budgets.
* Manage the monthly budget forecasting and tracking, phasing procedures aligned to the annual business plan, highlighting any risk & opportunities with Head of Athletes in weekly WIP's.
* Regular updates of the Red Bull SportsNet tool ensuring accurate and regular information updates to users on all athlete related topics including updating event calendars, factsheets, news-postings, mapping, athlete activations submissions, scouting approvals + more.
Qualifications
* University Degree in sports, marketing and / or business
* Minimum five years athlete management and marketing experience
* Passion for sports and a strong understanding of the sports industry in Australia
* Established local sports industry network, including athletes, agents, coaches, high-performance staff, professional teams, federations, and media, with a focus on athlete management and elite performance
* Strong understanding of the marketing mix and media landscape across all platforms, with experience in developing marketing plans that align with asset creation and channel leverage
