KCE is currently seeking Undergraduate Civil Construction Engineers to join our Undergraduate Development Program.

Our program is designed to provide students with practical, hands-on construction experience, supported training, mentoring, and exposure to a variety of roles, while remaining flexible around university study commitments.
This opportunity is ideal for students studying Civil Engineering or Construction Management who are looking to develop strong construction fundamentals and progress toward a future graduate role within civil construction.
About the Program
As part of KCE's Undergraduate Development Program, you will:
* Participate in a structured, well-supported program that has been running successfully for over 25 years
* Gain exposure to multiple aspects of civil construction, from site-based works through to engineering and project controls
* Receive ongoing guidance from experienced Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors
* Develop practical skills aligned with your university studies
* Be considered for future graduate employment pathways
Day to Day Responsibilities
Initially, you will spend time building a strong understanding of construction delivery through site-based activities, before progressing into broader engineering responsibilities. Your role will include:
* Assisting with day-to-day construction activities on site, including earthworks, pavements, drainage and roadworks
* Working closely with Supervisors and site teams to understand construction methods, sequencing and safety requirements
* Supporting subcontractor coordination and monitoring site activities to ensure quality and compliance
* Working integrally with and taking direction from the Project Manager, Supervisor and Project Engineer
* Assisting with tracking and management of QA documentation, testing, work lots and reporting
* Assisting with cost tracking, quantity take-offs and basic project controls
* Supporting planning, programming and general project administration
* Undertaking various other engineering and construction-related tasks as required
About You
Applicants will be highly regarded if they meet the following criteria:
* Currently in 3rd or 4th year of a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Willingness to learn with strong attention to detail
* Highly self-motivated and proactive
* Experience with MS Excel (MS Project desirable)
* Current Driver's Licence (or working towards)
* Previous exposure to civil construction, earthworks or roadworks (highly regarded but not essential)
