Your key accountabilities
* Manage and contribute to strategic and operational financial management services, ensuring financial information integrity is maintained and complies with legislation, standards, policies and practices.
* Coordinate the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, forward estimates, and analysis, reporting and forecasting of financial performance and position.
* Provide high level advice to senior executive and staff regarding the development and monitoring of budgets and performance to ensure best practice and quality financial management outcomes.
* Establish and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support financial management initiatives, ensure governance is maintained and meet desired outcomes.
* Research matters and prepare quality reports, submissions, correspondence and briefing notes on financial management issues and impacts, in accordance with departmental requirements.
* Support the development and implementation of business improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial management practices and processes.
* Work effectively in a professional environment, fostering teamwork and assisting in the ongoing development of staff through leadership and performance management, and planning and review processes.
Your opportunity
As the Senior Regional Finance Officer (AO6) within Management Accounting, Budget and Performance, you will deliver high-level financial management, budgeting and performance reporting services across QFD's North Queensland operations.
Reporting to the Principal Finance Officer, you will support senior leaders with strategic financial advice, forecasting, analysis and governance - helping shape how QFD plans, invests and delivers services.
In This Role, You Will
* Coordinate operating and capital budgets, forward estimates and financial forecasts
* Provide high-level financial analysis, reporting and advice to senior executives
* Ensure financial integrity and compliance with legislation, standards and policies
* Support funding submissions and Treasury reporting, including budget papers
* Build strong stakeholder partnerships to improve financial management outcomes
* Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and correspondence
* Drive continuous improvement of financial management practices and systems
* Contribute to team leadership, capability development and performance culture
About You
You will bring experience providing finance advice at a senior level, strong organisational and communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
* Experience in financial management within complex organisations
* Strong budgeting, forecasting and analytical capability
* High-level written communication and executive briefing skills
* Sound understanding of governance, compliance and audit requirements
* Ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
* Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance (highly desirable)
