Senior Database Administrator

We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation to appoint a Senior Database Administrator to join their Technology Operations function.
This is not a traditional maintenance DBA role. The team already has an existing DBA and are looking for an experienced professional who can bring thought leadership, elevate standards and help drive their database and data platform capability forward.
You will operate across a hybrid environment spanning Oracle, SQL Server and Snowflake, supporting both on premises infrastructure and cloud based services in Azure. The role plays a critical part in ensuring performance, security, resilience and governance across mission critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer, optimise and secure Oracle databases in enterprise environments
* Support SQL Server and Snowflake workloads across hybrid infrastructure
* Own backup, recovery, high availability and disaster recovery strategies
* Lead performance tuning, capacity planning and optimisation initiatives
* Support cloud database services and platform constructs in Azure
* Contribute to data warehousing and analytics enablement
* Produce clear technical documentation including HLD, LLD and operational runbooks
* Collaborate with infrastructure, data and security teams to improve standards and controls
Key Skills and Experience
* Strong experience administering Oracle in enterprise environments
* Strong experience with SQL Server and Snowflake
* Experience operating across on-premises and cloud environments
* Solid understanding of security controls, encryption, compliance and governance
* Strong scripting capability such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, PL SQL or T SQL
* Experience supporting high availability and performance engineering in critical systems
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive improvement
WFH: 3 days in office, 2 WFH
Interview: 2 Stages
