The Head Office at Code Black Coffee is seeking an enthusiastic, detail‑focused Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our finance team. This hands‑on role suits someone who enjoys variety, accuracy and supporting a fast‑paced, growing business.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support day‑to‑day financial operations across our Retail and Wholesale business units. You will assist with accounts payable, daily takings, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general administrative duties to keep our financial records accurate and up to date. Key Responsibilities
* Process Accounts Payable: supplier invoice entry, weekly payment runs and issuing remittances.
* Record and reconcile daily takings from all venues, allocate payments, prepare corporate invoices, and issue monthly customer statements.
* Assist with debtor management: follow up overdue accounts and manage debtor communications.
* Bank reconciliations: assist with reconciliations and transaction matching.
* Maintain records: keep accurate customer and supplier files; process credit applications and vendor/customer setups.
* Liaise across teams: communicate with suppliers, customers, store teams, and warehouse staff.
* Month‑end support: assist with month‑end tasks and general bookkeeping duties.
* Compliance support: assist with BAS preparation and other compliance activities.
* Administrative support: provide day‑to‑day assistance to the Finance Manager and wider team.
* Ad hoc duties as required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will bring:
* Experience in bookkeeping or accounts administration.
* Strong working knowledge of MYOB AccountRight (required).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Drive.
* Confidence with AP/AR processes and reconciliations.
* Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
