Overview The Sewing Basket sells donated fabrics, patterns, patchwork, embroidery materials, knitting and crochet yarn, haberdashery and more while providing employment for people with disability.
We are looking for a part time retail assistant to work in our Kincumber store.
Responsibilities Assist customers with point of sale transactions, including calculating sales totals and operating the cash register and EFTPOS terminal, ensuring efficient and accurate transaction support.
Perform end of day sales tally, reconciliation and complete the necessary daily sales reports.
Maintain a professional and polite manner in all aspects of your work, showing respect to every customer and Sewing Basket team member.
Assist with the coordination, collection and handling of incoming donations & preparation for transfer to the Sewing Basket warehouse.
Contribute to the management of stock for sale and the reordering system via the Kincumber warehouse.
Collaborate with colleagues, employees we support and volunteers to promote customer satisfaction in the retail store.
Qualifications Knowledge and understanding of sewing, quilting and related craft and skill activities would be helpful.
Knowledge / understanding of the provision of effective customer service.
Knowledge or willingness to learn all the essential activities associated with the point of sale requirements of the position.
Collaborative when working with colleagues, employees we support and volunteers.
Current NSW Driver's License.
Current First Aid Certificate.
Current Working with Children Check.
