SWS Lawyers has an opportunity for a motivated disputes lawyer to join our growing litigation team, servicing our sophisticated client base, including large corporate clients, government clients, public entities and up and coming startups.
Our litigation team is well known for its work on significant commercial disputes and complex litigation in superior Courts. Our lawyers also regularly appear in the Local and District Courts in prosecution matters, which the successful candidate will assist with.
Our team believes in providing commercial and practical legal advice, high quality drafting and attention to detail. The leadership team prides itself mentoring emerging litigators, providing on the job practical training, managing workloads, and a friendly and relaxed team environment.
We are seeking a candidate that enjoys the court room and has proven experience as an advocate in the Local Court. You will enjoy working autonomously undertaking prosecution work, but also thrive on being part of a team that undertakes a variety of commercial litigation, including contract disputes, equitable remedies, competition and consumer issues, intellectual property disputes, directors' duties and shareholder claims.
If you are the right candidate, we can also offer flexible working arrangements and will consider candidates who are seeking less than a full-time role or more senior candidates who are looking for a ‘single client’ workload.
The successful candidate will have:
strong academic results;
desire to develop and or learn advocacy skills;
sound written and verbal communication skills;
the ability to develop client focused relationships;
the ability to use your initiative and work as part of a team; and
