About the Role An opportunity is available for an experienced Project Officer to contribute to the successful coordination and delivery of key government initiatives based in Orange, NSW. This role will see you working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with defined scope, budget and quality standards. You will play a hands-on role in supporting project governance, maintaining accurate documentation and providing timely reporting to leadership. The position requires strong organisational capability, analytical thinking and the ability to manage competing priorities within a structured public sector environment. Position: Project Officer – up to $700 per day super Location: Orange, NSW Start Date: ASAP Duration: Contract through to 30/09/2026 Application Deadline: Thursday 4:00pm Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support end-to-end project activities in alignment with established methodologies Develop, update and maintain project plans, schedules and risk registers Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, presentations and status updates for senior stakeholders Monitor project milestones, deliverables and budgets to ensure targets are achieved Collate and analyse data to identify emerging risks, trends and performance issues Facilitate meetings, workshops and working groups to drive project outcomes Maintain accurate and compliant project documentation for audit and governance purposes Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations and respond to enquiries Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools Provide guidance and informal mentoring to team members where required Escalate issues appropriately and recommend practical solutions About You Demonstrated experience in a Project Officer or similar project support role, preferably within NSW Government or a large, complex organisation Sound knowledge of project management frameworks and governance requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare executive-level documentation Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills High attention to detail and strong analytical capability Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business, Public Administration or a related discipline (desirable) PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project management certification (highly regarded) Must have full Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency, or long-term visa holders) As a mandatory requirement for this contract role required by our client, applicants are kindly asked to complete a compliance check and upload their work rights verification at www.charterdiligence.com.au/portal.
