Job Description
Oaks Brisbane River City Suites are looking for a hands-on and reliable Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead our property operations on a full-time basis.
This role is essential in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient functioning of all building systems, assets and maintenance operations across the property. The successful candidate will oversee preventative maintenance, vendor and contractor coordination, compliance, team leadership and support key projects including upgrades and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, implement and execute the preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal property performance and long-term asset protection.
Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance across the property as required.
Supervise and manage all service areas including (but not limited to) electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security systems, and approved contractor works.
Oversee general building upkeep tasks including painting, plastering, carpentry and other minor works.
Always ensure strict compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and all regulatory requirements.
Manage stock control, purchasing, supplier coordination and cost-efficient resource allocation.
Prepare quotes, schedule works, and manage Capital Expenditure (Capex) requests.
Contribute to long-term asset planning, sustainability initiatives and continuous operational improvement.

Monday to Friday
8 : 00am start time (flexible for the right candidate)
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have:
Previous hands-on Maintenance and / or Facilities Management experience, ideally within a hotel or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of building systems, property operations and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated experience implementing preventative maintenance programmes.
Experience coordinating and negotiating with contractors and external vendors.
Practical experience in general repairs including painting, plastering, carpentry and minor building works.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop team members.
Sound MS Office skills (Excel, Word, reporting tools).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with professional presentation.
A proactive approach, exceptional service focus and strong attention to detail.
Building or trade qualifications are highly regarded.
