The role is responsible for day-to-day operations and support a service operating 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Launch Housing Southbank is a residential facility with 41 single rooms and 5 couple rooms. The service providestemporary supported accommodation (for up to 12 weeks with the possibility of an extension). The Team Leader - Operations will primarily be working with a second Team Leader and will work with a multi-disciplinary team includinga case management team, health response team and an Alcohol and Other Drug team. The Team Leader - Operations is responsible for rostering and supervising a team of After-Hours Support Workers. Team Leaders support their staff by role modelling the Launch Housing Values, being approachable, and ensuringthat every team member has a development plan and attends all relevant training for their role. They support staffperformance through regular supervision and feedback and use mistakes as opportunities to learn and grow whereappropriate. They set clear and fair performance expectations for their team, including setting appropriate boundariesaround client work to keep their staff safe. They know what resources are available to them and how to make the bestuse of them. We also believe that leadership is learnable - that there is a body of knowledge, skills anddispositions associated with leadership that can be learned The Launch Housing Leadership Framework outlines the key expectations and behaviours required for effectiveleadership at every level. This role is aligned to the Leading Others proficiency level within the framework, reflectingthe responsibility to guide and support teams, foster collaboration, and create a high-performing and inclusiveenvironment that drives positive outcomes. There are 2 x part-time, permanent opportunities based in Southbank at 60.8 hours per fortnight. This will include 1 Saturday shift per fortnight at 10am to 6pm. The shift pattern will rotate between one week of 8am to 4pm and one week 12pm to 8pm. What you'll be doing:Providing leadership using a best practice, trauma-informed and value-based leadership approach in line withthe Launch Housing Leadership Framework.Participating in the recruitment process and leading the induction and training of new staff members.Providing direction to the After-Hours Support Workers to ensure the delivery of a consistent, effective and high-quality service.Coordinating and providing learning and development opportunities for staff.Ensuring team compliance with all Launch Housing policies, procedures and relevant practices, as well asaligning with relevant legislative, regulatory and policy requirements.Ensure accurate and current records are confidentially maintained.Providing supervision and supporting the performance development of staff in accordance with relevant LaunchHousing policies and procedures.Participating in the on-call roster.Ensuring a consistent, continuously improving and best-practice approach to client support.Contributing to the delivery of innovative solutions to improve housing and wellbeing outcomes for clients.Advocating on behalf of clients with other agencies to ensure access and delivery of effective services.Responding to and supporting staff to manage critical incidents in consultation with the Coordinator- Operationsand the Service Manager.Consulting and supporting the Coordinator - Operations with decisions on managing the facility in line with theManaging Behaviours in Crisis Guidelines and the Occupancy Framework.Scheduling the After-Hours roster.Conducting front desk work as required.Approving timesheets.Providing feedback (positive and constructive) to enhance client experience.Assisting in the identification of ongoing and emerging issues in homelessness and housing for families andchildren and contributing to an environment of continuous quality improvement and innovation.Supporting a culture and program of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback from stakeholders, staffand clients to inform program and service improvements.Regular review and program development activities for the After-Hours team, with a focus on continuousimprovement and accreditation requirements.Regular monitoring of program outcomes across the After-Hours team.Leading a strong safety focus in the team (including physical and psychological safety) and being proactive inmanaging and responding to risk.Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational and occupational health andsafety requirements of the service are met.What we're looking for (key selection criteria):Have a relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).Demonstrated experience in client facing human services, social work or other relevant discipline, with a preferencefor an understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems.Experience supporting staff who work with people with complex needs.Ability to provide supervision that is supportive and promotes professional development and accountability.Demonstrated leadership skills and previous experience managing staff.High degree of initiative and analytical skills, including well-developed organisational and time-management skillsand having strong risk assessment and management skills.Understanding the effect of trauma on clients and vicarious trauma on staff and ensuring staff wellbeing and soundpractices to support clients.Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness. $50.76 - $53.06 an hour + Superannuation + NFP salary packaging (tax savings!) + Additional wellbeing leave available Applications close 20th June 2025 and will occur on a rolling basis, please don't delay in submitting your application.
