The Office for Early Childhood Development has been formed with a clear mandate: to create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia by implementing the accepted recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care.
As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduce developmental vulnerability.
This includes providing universal access to quality, teacher-led preschool from the age of 3, growing and sustaining a quality early childhood workforce, and greater supports and connected services for families in the 1000 days of a child's life.
About This Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Government Relations and Strategy, the Manager, Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) leads a high-performing team to influence the national early childhood education and care reform agenda and support better outcomes for South Australian children.
The Manager leverages effective working relationships across South Australia and interstate to lead the coordination, development and delivery of strategic policy advice for the Minister, Chief Executive and other executives on issues of national importance.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Lead South Australia's contribution to design and implementation of national early childhood reforms.
* Lead a high-performing team, oversee team processes and develop a forward work program.
* Build effective relationships across South Australia and nationally to support the development of strategic positioning on key policy issues.
* Analyse state, national and international policies that impact on early childhood education and care.
About You
You will bring extensive experience in leading the analysis and evaluation of complex and sensitive policy issues, supported by a strong capacity to lead teams, motivate others and establish a network of professional relationships across state and national governments.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who brings:
* Extensive experience in intergovernmental relations and leading strategic policy analysis.
* Demonstrated leadership experience and engagement expertise.
* Enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced reform environment with the opportunity to make meaningful improvements to children's outcomes.
* Knowledge of early years landscape (desirable).

Remuneration
MAS3 - $127, FTE) per annum, plus superannuation.
Additional Note
This is a full-time 2-year long term contract role (1.0 FTE) with potential to be made ongoing.
