Primary objective
To develop and maintain governance management and reporting systems and evaluate, develop and implement effective
governance policies and programs.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Maintain the monitoring and reporting of audit findings/recommendations, risk management plans, investigations of
internal control processes, and assist with audits and review.
2. Contribute to the development of policies, guidelines and procedures associated with corporate governance, risk
management, business continuity and audit and review matters.
3. Undertake and contribute to projects to ensure the achievement of good governance, best practice risk management and
business continuity management practices and evaluation of internal control.
4. Undertake secretariat services to governance committees.
5. Maintain sound networks to support and facilitate the agency’s governance and risk management priorities and manage
the collection of information for key governance activities.
6. Research, analyse and prepare information papers for Committees and other working groups as needed.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Working knowledge in one or more areas of corporate governance, business continuity, risk management and
identification, and audit and review processes.
2. Demonstrated experience in working effectively as part of a team and independently to achieve outputs.
3. Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure outputs are delivered efficiently and
effectively within tight timeframes.
4. Demonstrated ability to think strategically within the context of own work and the organisation, and ability to think
analytical and solve problems.
5. Strong research and investigative skills with the ability to interpret policies, legislation, business plans and financial
records.
6. Sound oral and written communication skills, consultation and negotiation skills, and ability to act on stakeholder
feedback.
7. Proven experience in the use of computerised information systems.
8. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude, which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest,
innovative and respectful.
Desirable
1. Qualifications in Business, Public Administration, risk management, investigations or audit or other related discipline.
