We're looking for a creative and solutions-focused Interior Designer to join our Estate Strategy and Planning team within Infrastructure and Facilities Services.
This role plays a key part in transforming underutilised areas into vibrant, functional spaces that enhance the experience of students, staff, and the wider community.
You'll contribute to both strategic planning and project delivery, ensuring design solutions are cost-effective, technically sound, and aligned with the University's vision.
In this role you will:
Identify opportunities to improve space utilisation and contribute to the creation of learning and working environments.
Deliver innovative and practical design solutions for minor refurbishments and space enhancements across our campuses.
Collaborate with stakeholders and planning teams to develop design briefs and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Manage all stages of the design process, from concept through to construction documentation and delivery.
This position is for a period of 2 years and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).
Part time arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
How will you inspire us?
You will have:
Proven experience delivering thoughtful and effective interior design solutions, supported by a portfolio showcasing work in higher education or similarly complex environments.
Excellent communication skills with a robust ability to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Proven ability to deliver technically resolved documentation and manage construction delivery in line with standards and compliance requirements.
A creative, user-focused mindset with a passion for transforming spaces into places people want to be.
What we offer
The remuneration for this position is from $103,641 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
