The Bureau of Meteorology are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to develop and maintain the Development & Service Management function to of the systems that create the Aviation Product Suite.

The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for providing the aviation industry with specialised meteorological services contributing to efficient and effective aviation operations within the Australian Flight Information Regions and the Asia-Pacific Region. The service includes the provision of observations, forecasts, warnings and advisories, and is provided within the technical and regulatory framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

The Manager Aviation Service will have demonstrated experience in leading a team to support operational products and service offerings which may be multi-disciplined and will involve working with colleagues across multiple Programs of the Bureau. This will include technical services, research and operational forecasting.

The Aviation Service Development team are seeking an individual with:

- Demonstrated understanding of the aviation industry's exposure to weather related risks.
- Ability to lead the service management function for aviation services.
- Ability to lead and implement change in a 24X7 operational environment.
- Strong stakeholder and customer engagement skills to consult broadly and effectively build support across the enterprise to identify, coordinate and deploy the skills, knowledge and expertise needed to achieve best practice service management.
- Outstanding communication skills, a high degree of initiative and ability to self-manage.
- Experience establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders and project team members, employing a consultative and influencing approach is essential.
- An ability to deliver high quality results, work independently (with limited supervision), be highly proactive and flexible.

- A track record leading teams to develop new and enhanced products and services that harness science and technology to best create customer impact and value.
- Relevant leadership experience in complex and dynamic operating environments, including sophisticated project management skills and experience leading geographically distributed, multidisciplinary teams.
