The Opportunity
Serve as the design authority for an engineering discipline of moderate complexity, overseeing multiple projects or project portions. Ensure cost-effective execution while adhering to contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements through rigorous review of drawings and technical specifications.
How You Will Make An Impact
1. Coordinate engineering discipline across service jobs and projects, conducting electrical design reviews, approvals, and supporting drafting, site installation, and project document preparation. Utilize advanced concepts and methods as a specialist, collaborating with team members on quality issues with customers and factories, and providing technical assistance to field service teams.
2. Support Project Managers in issuing claims, provide cost-effective quality solutions, ensure adherence to safety standards, and mitigate risks.
3. Enhance work plan effectiveness by conducting risk assessments and reporting issues with recommendations.
4. Interact with customers, officials, contractors, attend project meetings, collaborate with supply chain, evaluate supplier proposals, and accept equipment/services as fit for purpose.
5. Maintain a network of engineering professionals, share best practices, ensure compliance with safety and contractual requirements, and suggest process improvements.
6. Cultivate and support colleagues, assign tasks, and potentially lead a small team.

Your Background
* Possess tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, preferably with experience in High Voltage equipment and power substations.
* A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience is required.
* Proven experience in providing engineering support including specifications, design coordination, safety, testing, and quality.
* Familiarity with standards such as Australian Engineering and Technical standards (AS/IEC).
* Proficient in MS Office, able to read and draft drawings.
