Overview
The Hunter Valley Lower Mid North Coast Mental Health Service (HVLMNC MHS) is a key part of the Hunter New England Local Health District Mental Health Network, delivering specialist support to adults experiencing complex and severe mental health challenges. We provide person‐centred, recovery‐focused care across the lifespan of treatment – from acute intervention through to sustained community support.
Responsibilities
* Deliver assessment, intervention and care coordination within a multidisciplinary framework
* Build meaningful therapeutic relationships over time
* Engage clients in their homes and communities
* Deliver recovery‐oriented interventions in real‐world settings
* Balance autonomy with clinical risk management
* Collaborate closely with GPs, CMOs and key stakeholders
* Contribute to service improvement and quality initiatives
About You
* Clinically competent and compassionate
* Adaptable and solutions‐focused
* Confident working independently and within a multidisciplinary team
* Skilled in time management and prioritisation
* Committed to recovery‐oriented, person‐centred care
* Experience in mental health is highly regarded – willingness to learn, grow and contribute meaningfully
Qualifications & Requirements
* Hold a qualification in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Dietetics or Counselling (e.g., Bachelor of Health Science – Mental Health, Djirruwang Program) that provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association or provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* Eligible to drive in NSW
* Australian Citizen, permanent resident of Australia, or New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport (no visa sponsorship offered)
* Knowledge and experience in mental illness assessment, care planning, and contemporary mental health principles and practices
* Commitment to consumer and carer‐focused clinical practice that is collaborative, holistic and respectful
* Effective communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary environment
