The ABC is looking for a Reporter to join the ABC Regional team in Carnarvon, supporting the ABC Pilbara newsroom. In this position, you'll create compelling, original content for multiple platforms, helping deliver strong local, regional and national coverage. This is a hands-on reporting role where every day brings new opportunities to find, shape and tell stories that matter.
The Job
* Create content for multiple platforms to engage both local and national audiences.
* Produce news bulletins, Q&As, interviews and packages, including breaking news.
* Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop new story ideas.
* Support delivery of the Local Emergency Coverage plan and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
* Identify and develop local and regional content to share across ABC News teams.
* Tell stories that reflect Australia's cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity.
* Engage with communities to uncover and report stories relevant to them.
Position Description:
About You
You're a creative, community-minded storyteller with strong editorial judgment and a passion for representing diverse Australian experiences.
You'll have:
* Relevant regional journalism experience.
* Demonstrated creativity in content construction and strong live presentation skills.
* Proven editorial capability, including the ability to source, analyse and verify information.
* Current and valid driver's licence.
